چکیده

Centaurus X-4 (Cen X-4) is a relatively nearby neutron star low-mass X-ray binary that showed outbursts in 1969 and 1979, but has not shown full outburst since. Due to its proximity sustained period of quiescence, it prime target study the coupling between accretion jet ejection quiescent binaries. Here, we present four MeerKAT radio observations at 1.3 GHz Cen X-4, combined with NICER Swift monitoring. During first most sensitive observation, was fully state. The three later shorter targeted brief faint activity January 2021, which been referred as 'mis-fired' outburst. detected any observations. We place these non-detections on -- luminosity diagram, improving constraints correlation two luminosities from earlier studies. confirm fainter than transitional milli-second pulsar PSR J1023+0038 same luminosity. discuss behaviour accreting stars low more generally finally comment future observing campaigns.

On the kinematics of the neutron star low mass X - ray binary Cen X - 4

We present the first determination of the proper motion of the neutron star low mass X-ray binary Cen X-4 measured from relative astrometry of the secondary star using optical images at different epochs. We determine the Galactic space velocity components of the system and find them to be significantly different from the mean values that characterize the kinematics of stars belonging to the hal...

Simultaneous radio and X-ray observations of the low-mass X-ray binary GX 13+1

We present the results of two simultaneous X-ray/radio observations of the low-mass X-ray binary GX 13+1, performed in July/ August 1999 with the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer and the Very Large Array. In X-rays the source was observed in two distinct spectral states; a soft state, which had a corresponding 6 cm flux density of ∼0.25 mJy, and a hard state, which was much brighter at 1.3–7.2 mJy. ...

X-ray neutron star magnetic field and magnetosphere evolution in low mass X-ray binary

The accretion induced neutron star magnetic field evolution is studied through considering the accretion flow to drag the field lines aside and dilute the polar field strength, and as a result the equatorial field strength increases and is buried inside the crust. The main conclusions of model are as follows: (i) the polar field decays with increasing the accreted mass; (ii) The bottom magnetic...

The bottom magnetic field and magnetosphere evolution of neutron star in low mass X - ray binary

The accretion induced neutron star magnetic field evolution is studied through considering the accretion flow to drag the field lines aside and dilute the polar field strength, and as a result the equatorial field strength increases, which is buried inside the crust on account of the accretion induced global compression of star crust. The main conclusions of model are as follows: (i) the polar ...

Relativistic Iron Line Emission from the Neutron Star Low-mass X-ray Binary 4u 1636-536

We present an analysis of XMM-Newton and RXTE data from three observations of the neutron star LMXB 4U 1636-536. The X-ray spectra show clear evidence of a broad, asymmetric iron emission line extending over the energy range 4–9 keV. The line profile is consistent with relativistically broadened Fe K-α emission from the inner accretion disk. The Fe K-α line in 4U 1636-536 is considerably broade...
